Marc & Dean a.k.a. Alfa Rhythm Boys are and up-and-coming force to watch for! These two Dutch producers are taking the deep progressive sound of their home country and bursting out of their borders with their debut EP on Quarterlife Records NYC. Aquastorm is a white-noise infused minor-scale instrumental journey that is the type of track you'd play to warm up a progressive house club... plenty of ups and downs, but still built on a subtle vibe that beckons the listener from around the next corner. Deep and musically intelligent, this will resonate well with the progressive heads out there. Chocodret bounces along with a nice filtered 3/4 pattern of 7th chords, giving it a more ethereal and uplifting vibration. The big buildup spills into a chord medley that reminisces of old-school house, but still carries on a strong progressive aesthetic. The EP's title track, Don't Stop, uses a repeating vocal snip with eerie chords delaying in the background. A big buildup blows up into a frenzy of chord stabs and synth washes - beautiful payoff!
