Third track from the 1984 demo tape by Courtney Love and Kat Bjelland's earliest band, the Pagan Babies. The song was a collaboration between Love and Bjelland, with Love providing vocals and Bjelland providing lead guitar and backing vocals. Janis Tanaka is on bass and Deidre Schletter on drums and piano.

This song was later reworked by Bjelland's band, Babes In Toyland and released on their 1992 debut album, Fontanelle. The guitar riffs in the song were based off of "King Volcano" by Bauhaus, and the name of the song, "Quiet Room", is purportedly based on the 'quiet room' for troubled kids that Love was often sent to while in juvenile hall.
