Eamonn O'Connor has been writing and recording since the tender age of thirteen. At twenty-one after a string of high profile gigs including supporting the likes of Semisonic and Evan Dando and playing premier venues such as The Olympia and Vicar Street he signed a record contract with Warner records London. The next five months were spent living in Sun Studios, Dublin. The record complete Eamonn experienced the same frustration suffered by many artists signed to majors and spent the next year fighting a battle to free himself from the company at at the expense of the record and eventually this was achieved. The following two years Eamonn took to the road and set himself up with a string of resident gigs in various venues including a summer spent in the south of France. This time saw Eamonn work on his songwriting craft and emerge with a set of new songs at the beginning of 2005. After two years away from the Irish music scene a little bit older and wiser he took to the studio with highly respected and brilliant Irish producer Fergal Davis. The pair took to the studio in July 2005 and finally finished the recording the album in March 2006. Friends, session players, string quartets and backing vocals by the brilliant Lisa Bresnan later the record was complete. Four tracks were selected from the album and put on a debut EP release "Yellow Man Street" which won immediate critical acclaim. "Eamonn's EP contains genuine spine tingling moments" HOT PRESS. A tour followed the release of the EP and appearances on 98fm became a regular occurance with Eamonn's song "Born To A Holy Land" making it on the stations evening playlist. A live appearance on Irish television station TG4 also helped to raise Eamonn's profile and gigs in Eamon Doran's, Crawdaddy and Whelan's it was obvious that numbers at the shows were rising and his fanbase was growing. The Spring of 2007 will see the release of Eamonn's debut album and the rest remains to be written.
