Sleep Walk - Handmade Short Scale Lap Steel Guitar and Spark Plug Socket! - Video
PUBLISHED:  Dec 22, 2014
DESCRIPTION:
Updated: Almost forgot to say: No need for a fancy and expensive tone bar. I am using a cheap 19mm spark plug socket! :)

The purpose of this video is to show this handcrafted lap steel guitar that I built two weeks ago. There's no backing track, I recorded all instruments in this song.

And before you ask: I am wearing pj's on purpose. :)

I have never tried a lap steel guitar before building this on, and I start practicing this song yesterday, so please give me a discount for the mistakes. :)

Thanks to joedocmusic's video, I learned this song in less than 2 hours practicing and that was my first time trying a lap steel. Kudos to Joe.

Given that I had a few spare parts, I only spent about $25 with wood, some screws, and set of strings.

This website was very helpful when I was trying to find out the fret positions: http://liutaiomottola.com/formulae/fret.htm
I just used the calculator "Calculating Fret Spacing for All Frets" embedded in the site.
