The Hand - Atlantic City (Mule Me, 1997, Messenger Records) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Feb 26, 2015
DESCRIPTION:
Mule Me is a sprawling 19-track opus representing the peak of Chris, Kenny Siegal and Brian Geltner’s collaboration as The Hand. It was recorded at The Kennel, the trio’s basement recording studio in then-deserted Dumbo, Brooklyn. The mad song Atlantic City grew out of a guitar composition presented by Brian. Chris thought it sounded lounge-lizard-like so took the lyric into a casino setting. The rest, as they say, is history. The Hand processed songs like a Cuisinart gone berserk.

That four should have been a jack. That card just kicked my ass. All dressed up and no place to go. No place to lay my head. That six should have been a queen. That card would have made me a king, but that dirty dealer took me down. Now I’m gonna take him out. Andreo, gonna get that Andreo. Cheating bastard Andreo! That three should have been an ace. Too broke to feed my face. When I get back to Casio, gonna win my savings back. Andreo, gonna get that Andreo. Cheating bastard Andreo!
