DESCRIPTION:
We had the opportunity to check out Mazzi and Sneakas. They are a fantastic group with incredible lyricists. Most Hated was formed in 2007 by two incredibly talented- yet extremely different- MCs named Mazzi and Sneakas. What separates this duo from every other group, is the fact that on one microphone stands a Jewish Israeli, and on the other a Muslim Persian. Sneakas, The Jewish Israeli, first got some light on Israeli Rap superstar Subliminals double platinum album The Light and the Shadow. He found more light on two platinum and three gold albums in Israel, and in April 2008 his debut album In It for The Change, with features by Kool G. Rap, Rass Kas, Wordsworth, and many others was released by Tactiturn (Sony/Red) records to rave reviews. Mazzi, The Muslim Persian, has been in the game since 1995 and has done shows with Eminem, G-Unit, Black Eyed Peas, Common, D12, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, C-N-N as well as legends such as, RUN DMC, Big Pun, Slick Rick, Dead Prez, Keith Murray, Kool G. Rap, and Nice & Smooth. Mazzi has been signed to 3 indie labels and released projects from 2000-2004 under the groups The Ancients & S.O.U.L. Purpose. He (S.O.U.L. Purpose) also dropped his latest LP The Construction in April 2008, along with a slew of videos that received more then 50,000 unique hits on youtube alone. In thinking of their first meetings Sneakas remembers that, within the first hours of meeting each other, Most Hated had been formed. We just clicked and knew there was something special here. Mazzi added, we dont see eye to eye about a lot of the issues between Israel and Palestine; the truth is, thats what makes this project even more unique, In Early 2009 M.C Serch (of famed rap group 3rd Bass and host of the hit TV show VH1s White Rapper Show) became closely involved with the group, and is taking the forefront in spreading their unique sound and timely message to the masses. When asked why this project was so important, M.C Serch said, When my partner Waleed and I started the Peace in the Middle East project, it was for artists like Most Hated. The essence of Most Hated's relevance can be summed up in a statement by Sneakas: most groups form because the members agree in the beginning, and then later break up because they disagree as time goes by. Mazzi and I disagreed from the very beginning- and we hope that as time goes by, we will learn to agree with each other. Thats why we make music." Most Hated's music proves not only that non-violent expression between Jews and Muslims can be a reality, but that hip hop can be one step towards the creation of an understanding between these two groups- an understanding that is infinitely overdue
