Ami Garmon is an American artist who lives and works in Berlin. In 1988, she left the U.S. for Paris where she began a career that would consistently keep her on the shared borders of dance, performance art and theatre. A former gymnast, she has studied kinesiology for dancers, yoga (Iyengar, Jivamukti). With Steve Paxton she worked privately for two years on his Material for the Spine research. She is a fully certified Classical Pilates trainer. She has worked with Philippe Decouflé, Pierre Droulers, Meg Stuart, Frank Willens and Marco Berretini.
