DESCRIPTION:
Akimbo band was formed by Nick van Gelder, original drummer of Jamiroquai & The Brand New Heavies' guitarist Simon J Bartholomew. Simon suggested bassist Nick Seymour to come along. With participations of Marcina Arnold on vocals, Jessica Lauren on keyboards and Kofi Kari Kari on Percussion, "On Top" album was recorded in a jamming atmosphere, with mostly instrumental tracks. They were in a band called Coke Bottle Willy and played a few gigs such as The Clarendon - Now torn down for Shepherds Bush Roundabout Mall. The Frantic Elevators were playing in the upstairs room - They later became Simply Red
