DESCRIPTION:
Today's Raag: Khamas

Derived from the 28th scale of melakartha, this raag is similar to Harikamboji and originally adapted from Khamaj in Hindustani music into Carnatic. It is also called Panchachamaram.

avarohaṇa : S N2 D2 P M1 G3 R2 S

The raag evkes Sringara rasa, meaning beauty. It helps you to overcome stress as it calms your nerves and helps you to sleep better.

Next comes a melodious aalap in 'Kamas' followed by Tyagaraja composition, Seethapate in Adhi talam.
