Chicago has Replaced Singer Jason Scheff with Jeff Coffey..So What Happened?
The guy who replaced Peter Cetera in 1985 is now gone himself. After three decades Scheff and Chicago have parted ways.

The band released the following statement: "Chicago would like to officially welcome bassist / vocalist Jeff Coffey to the band! Jeff has been touring with Chicago in recent months, filling in for long-time member Jason Scheff.”

"We are so grateful to Jason for the enormous contribution he has made to Chicago over the last 30 plus years. Everyone wishes him and his family all the best as he continues his musical journey."

In May the singer/bassist took a leave of absense from Chicago because of, “important family health issues that may need Jason’s personal attention.”

Then Scheff told his friends and fans on Facebook, “I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your understanding and respectfulness of my privacy during these challenging times due to family health reasons,” Scheff said in a post to his Facebook page.

“And to address any of the rumors floating around, I make it a personal policy to not respond to silly and crazy things. Just to make things clear, I'm not leaving the band. We're in the middle of a pretty great run and I'm having the time of my life,” Scheff said.

“Other than that we're all hanging in there. Thank you again for your respectfulness.”

There were hints of this coming. Just lat week Earth, Wind and Fire's bassist Verdine White said on Facebook, "Thank you all my family friends and fans, for your comments regarding long time Chicago member Jason Scheff. EWF loves honors and respects his choice to move forward with his life,"

Scheff is appearing a new show called 'American Supergroup' with Jennifer Nettles.
