Sormorock - Homburg (Procol Harum cover) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Nov 11, 2012
DESCRIPTION:
Sormorock is a live band based in Turin, Italy, we feature the music of Procol Harum and build upon the compositions of Brooker, Fisher, Trower and Reid to develop original music in the same style.

Our first album, "Slidin' On The Sand", has been recently recorded and will be released soon, this video is the first of a few previews of what will end up on the album.

This is our take on Procol Harum's second hit, Homburg, as usual close to the original arrangement but with a couple of surprises here and there.

Listening to the original Hammond part Matthew Fisher layered down in 1967 you can discover one of the most peculiar paying styles he ever conceived, so far I still have to hear a version without him played in the same style.

Also notice the inventive piano, the "town clock" drumming and the flute counterpoint.

Alberto Bodini - Vocals;
Carlo "Jack" Ponissi - Hammond Organ;
Cristina Ramat - Piano;
Marko Barbieri - Bass Guitar;
Lorenzo Brunetti - Drums

Alfredo Ponissi - Guest starring on Flute;

Recorded live in the studio by Igor Sciavolino;

Audio Mixing and Video Editing by Carlo "Jack" Ponissi.
