Robert Shaw Chamber Singers: Coventry Carol - Video

DESCRIPTION:
Optimal Sound when viewed in High Quality ( &fmt=18 )...
Robert Shaw conducts the Robert Shaw Chamber Singers on July 23-24, 1993. The Chamber Singers and Shaw's Festival Singers were, (at the time when Robert Shaw was alive), arguably the best adult choirs in the world. The blend, along with the overall musicianship, was absolutely incredible: the Bass section was the true foundation of the Singers, with the rest of the sections Tuning to them; the Sopranos would resort to singing Vowels Only during high notes, (they would drop the beginning consonants of the words, thereby achieving uniform-shaped vowels with the rest of the Choir), letting the lower sections carry the whole words; the Altos and Tenors never "over-sang" their parts. I could go on-and-on with compliments about these most superior Choirs in the world!

Thank You for listening!
