gen;lon, the abbreviated, punctuated, and yes, rather splendid Swedish electronica duo Rikard Gensollen & Jonas Lonna.
Jonas is one of Swedens most acclaimed DJs, known for his tasteful mix of leftfield sounds, broken beats, techno & deep house.
He has spinned around the globe in clubs such as:
Batofar/Paris, Blaa/Oslo, Roxy Club/Istanbul, Blue Note/Tokyo, Brancaleone/Rome, Tango Club/Beijing, Bohannon/Berlin.
He was also one of the founders/residents, together with Mad Mats, of the world famous Fusion club in Stockholm, nowadays trading as Raw Fusion.
Since 2000 Rikard has been Jonass beaty sidekick, performing percussion for Jonass celebrated DJ sets.
Both Rikard and Jonas were also regular members of Bugge Wesseltofts New Conception of Jazz and programmed beats and sounds for the two classic Jazzland albums "Moving" and "Film Ing".
Also, they both appeared on Laurent Garnier’s “Retrospective” album.
They have toured the globe the last 7 years, playing at festivals like:
Sonar/Spain, Roskilde/Denmark, Montreaux Jazz Festival/Switzerland, Nice Jazz Festival/France, North Sea/ Holland, Beyond/Japan, Les Nuits Sonores/France. Shearing stages/played/toured together with people like Gilles Petersen, Joshua Redman, John Scofield, Laurent Garnier, Theo Parrish, Francois K., Joe Claussell & Matthew Herbert.
Their debut album “Dong Dong Gaaf” (2006) recived big support from DJs such as Laurent Garnier & Lars Berenroth (Deeper Shades Of House).
Also, gen;lon appear as part of Bugge Wesseltofts N.C.O.J. on the 3 CD + 1 DVD box "New Conception Off Jazz Box Set". Out through Jazzland Recordings now. More info & tracklist here !
