Formed in San Francisco in 2001, Floating Goat set out to incite fist shaking, head banging and hell raising. Guitarist Chris Corona and Drummer Aaron Barrett were soon joined by bassist Ian Petitpren to to round out an explosive, heavy power trio with melodic sensibility and dynamic song structure driven by honest raw energy. With an arsenal of heavy riffage screaming guitar leads and roaring whiskey drenched vocals the goat released their first full length entitled HEAVEN’S BURNING in 2002, followed up in 2006 by their second album THE VULTURES ARRIVE, and more recently with the completion of their third offering in 2010, a double album duly double titled SPAWN OF POSEIDON/SUBURBAN ANXIETY they’ve kept the goat afloat for a decade of earth scorching, full on heaviness.
