Rob Swift Vs Lord Kaseem 1992 Supermen Battle for World Supremacy - Video

DESCRIPTION:
Here's #Throwback footage of me competing in the 1992 Supermen Battle for World Supremacy. I actually ended up losing in the first round to Lord Kaseem (former DJ for Master Ace). When I watch this video, all I could think of is the hours, days, weeks, months I devoted to creating my "The Bridge" and "Funky For You" routines. Keep in mind nothing you see... hear... is PRE-PRODUCED or PRE-ARRANGED. There are no laptops on stage. It's just us the competitors, vinyl, turntables and 2200 Gemini mixers. You'll see and hear mistakes throughout both my sets. For me though, that was the beauty of battles back then. I was HONEST in what I presented the judges and my audience. The HUMAN ELEMENT was undeniable, unmistakable, unquestionable. It was ME doing what you see and hear in this video. Not a COMPUTER. What's more, there was no contesting the ENERGY we all felt in the Ritz NYC on that day 21 years ago. It was even more POWERFUL than the energy you feel today watching this from your phone or computer. The battle scene back then was truly ORGANIC and I'm fortunate to have been a part of such an AUTHENTIC part of Turntablist history. Enjoy!
