Another song from Funkifying the Clave: Afro-Cuban Grooves for Bass and Drums book. A slow yet fun number due to its very Latin feel. Meaning, this time/feel of the song is very ''back phrased'' or a little behind or what my drum prof. calls ''wonky''. That is something challenging for a guy who comes from the punk rock era :)

I added a 16 bar solo after the montuno bell part. The Solo: to do a solo in THE CONTEXT of the song. So I did not go nuts, did not go for 32nd quad feet /hands rolls or twirled my sticks. I went for context and musicality. Hopefully that is what is coming through that solo. And hopefylly it is a good one :)

I hope you enjoy it and if you like please subscribe to the channel and add your comments. I open to hear from all of you.

All the best,
playdadrums :)
