Doomed to vanish ...
Van Der Graaf playing live (audio only) - Pioneers Over 'C' - Part One. The audio is from the 'unofficial live album 'Van Der Graaf Live at Eric's Club, Liverpool UK 15-5-1978'. This album track is split into two due to its length of over 16 mnutes being in excess of the YouTube limit.

I 'm not sure of the exact line-up for this concert - I'm not sure if David Jackson and/or Charles Dickie played some or all of this gig.

At the time of this gig Peter Hammill wore a full beard, and immediately afterwards shaved off half of it going around for a few days half-shaven, and pictures of him at this time adorn the 1978 solo album "The Future Now".

Although I wasn't at this gig and Liverpool is many miles from my home, I did work in Liverpool for a short while and I saw a band called the Dead Birds at Eric's ca. 1973-74, and it was the smallest venue I've ever seen, with a capacity of probably less than 70. The audience were right on top of the band, and one can hear from this recording (more so on some of the other tracks) that the rowdy audience could be quite intimidating. (The Dead Birds concert was also one of the best concerts I've ever been to.)

I compiled the video montage myself utilising footage mostly downloaded from YouTube, with some of my own added effects and filters, but the audio is from the live album.
