My eyes they shudder fast
Collecting photographs of the unknown
So hold on...hold steady and strong
Watch the calendar retreat
Feel the ground beneath your feet
Leading you on
And every once in a while
In the middle of the night
Freight trains pass you by
Out of sight
Dead pioneers...buried side by side
With names that I don’t recognize
Not a single one
All the “long shots“ that came here from the east
To battle hunger and disease
The bravest kind of thieves I’ve ever seen
