DESCRIPTION:
Dave Bowmer (Stick) & David Holmes (Percussion) perform 'Night Journey to the Coast' at Leonard Wolfson Auditorium, Oxford. The concert included projected video, which is mixed into the performance video here. The projected video was filmed by artist Allan Giddy (www.allangiddy.org) and Dave Bowmer. This music is on the CD 'Wavedance' by Dave Bowmer. Looped percussion by Ricky Edwards (recorded on the CD) is incorporated in the performance.
An E-Bow is used on the Stick to create a bowed sound on the intro. The piece uses polyrhythmic phasing, the Stick playing in 3/4 over a 4/4 percussion pattern. The concert was filmed on a GoPro Surf camera ! (the main cameras ran out of memory).
