DESCRIPTION:
The "kashwa" is the most popular dance music in Cajamarca, located in the northern Peruvian Andes. The violin is occasionally played in combination with caja (drum) and antara (pentatonic panpipe), an otherwise solo instrument played during private moments while resting in the fields or tending animals.
La "kashwa" es uno de los más difundidos géneros musicales del departamento de Cajamarca en la sierra norte del Perú.
