the Standing in the Dark 30th Anniversary Tour will feature original PlatinumBlonde members — Mark Holmes on vocals and bass and Sergio Galli on guitar — playing all of the hit singles from the album that transformed new wave music, including Doesn't Really Matter, Not in Love, Sad, Sad Rain, Take it From Me and the title track Standing in the Dark.

"This tour is going to be about so much more than just the music of Platinum Blonde," says Galli. "It will offer a unique look at an album that helped define New Wave, with visual story-telling and special effects that will immerse our fans into the music that launched our careers and inspireduntold numbers of musicians."

Standing in the Dark was released in January 1984 through CBS Records, although it was recorded independently by Platinum Blonde. Thealbum, fittingly, went platinum four times and rocketed the three-piece band to stardom. It has also inspired cover songs across all musical genres — from rap to heavy metal. In 2011, Not In Love received a massive rebirth when the Crystal Castles version of the song featuring Robert Smith of The Cure became an international hit.

The 30th Anniversary Tour — with initial stops through February scheduled for Hamilton, Sarnia, Ont., Vancouver, North Battleford,Sask., and Prince Albert, Sask., — will be a live performance complemented with never-before-seen video footage of the young band just starting out, taking the audience along for the rise of Platinum Blonde, its break up in the early 1990s and reunion in 2010. For each show, the band will choose key selections from Standing In The Dark the way it was originally performed as a three piece. Platinum Blonde will alsoplay mix of old and new songs, including the band's latest hit singles Beautiful and Valentine from the 2012 album Now & Never, to bring fans full circle to 2014.

This special event tour will be the first and only time Platinum Blonde will perform this many tracks from Standing in the Dark as three piece.

Before each show, Platinum Blonde will stage a special VIP acoustic performance of the Standing in the Dark album, with a Q&A and a special edition re-issue of the album on vinyl and CD, autographed by the band's original members.
