Spiral Navigators - "A National Acrobat" - Video
PUBLISHED:  Dec 28, 2011
DESCRIPTION:
Spiral navigators' version of "A National Acrobat", from Sabbath Bloody Sabbath (1973)... lyrics which are esoteric / psychedelic in the true sense of the word and the jazzy, jam-like, heterogeneous structure meant this was a perfect tribute for the spiral navigators to offer up to the newly reformed sabbath..It contains two epic Iommi/Butler riffs and a complicated end section with the trademark Sabbath tempo changes. It was an intense session getting it all to work, and we were up against the clock. Nik Toastie amazed us all in learning all the lyrics in a couple of days, though we knew he would deliver in terms of quality. Given he lost his sight a few years back this is no mean feat, though you wouldn't know this was the case, a real pro. The video was recorded by Cat (Cath) at the time, while video credits go to Tim Crosby and mixing done through the night by Rob Tarana and Tim. The original line up of Tony Iommi, Bill Ward, Geezer Butler and Ozzy announced on 11.11.11 their reunion and plans to record an album, the first with the original line up in over thirty years..We hope you enjoy this tribute to them.
