The Acoustic Happy Accident--"6 Months" by Hey Monday - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jul 17, 2009
DESCRIPTION:
Video of Hey Monday on their headlining Let's Make A Mess tour, in the Masquerade in Atlanta. (Cool Fact: the stage/section where they were playing was called Hell. And it was as hot as.) According to a musically inclined acquaintance I was there with, Cassadee Pope had both her mike and her brand new cheetah print electric guitar to the same amp, and something or other must have happened to the power cord, because both went out RIGHT before the second verse started. You can see in the video Cassadee start to sing only to realize. Not to be fazed, she changed out the electric for an acoustic and sang along with the fans. The video quality is crappy, and at one point the audience sort of lost track of the song and started yelling "I LOVE YOU CASSADEE!" But it was pretty cool and as far as I could tell I was the only one who got it. I had just started filming because it's my sister's favorite Hey Monday song, and when that happened I had to film it. It was a very cool moment between Cassadee and the audience, because to me at least it felt like we were keeping the music alive.

The term "happy accident" comes from my 8th grade art teacher, who always said that our screwups were not mistakes, only happy accidents. The implication was that we could use our screwups to help our art.
