Bill Clay, Principal Bass of the Forth Worth Symphony, is an alumnus of MSU Denver. Hear Bill tell about how his education at MSU Denver helped to prepare him for a successful career as a leading orchestral musician.

Bill Clay has held the position of Principal Bass of the Fort Worth Symphony since 1995. Before moving to North Texas, he was Principal Bass of la Orquesta Sinfonica de Castilla y Leon and was a charter member of the New World Symphony. He is an adjunct professor at Texas Wesleyan University and has been on the faculty of University of North Texas. He is also currently Principal Bass of the Crested Butte Music Festival, and has been involved with music festivals including the Colorado Music Festival, Music in the Mountains, Breckenridge Music Festival. He has performed with a variety of chamber music groups including Spectrum, Chamber Music International, Chamber Music Society of Fort Worth, Mount Vernon Chamber Music and is a founding member of the Funkytown All-Stars Bass Quartet.

He has performed concertos with Metropolitan State University Symphony, New World Symphony, Colorado Symphony as well as the FWSO. He has a Master of Music degree from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Arts from Metropolitan State University. In 2003 he was chosen by the musicians and staff of the FWSO as the Distinguished Musician of the year, an award sponsored by American Airlines.
