577 Records is proud to announce that GRANT CALVIN WESTON’s new solo album Improv Messenger will be released officially in New York City on October 25th, 2016 with an exclusive limited edition of 50 hand numbered CDs and as a digital download.

This is Grant Calvin Weston’s second recording on 577 Records, joining his previous release, Flying Kites (with guitarist Lucas Brode) from 2015.

Grant Calvin Weston has blazed a harmolodic, funkadelic trail through modern jazz. This record is a culmination of recordings made on the West Coast and his hometown of Philadelphia. Weston puts his Midas touch on electronics and acoustic instruments that blow the socks off any jazz-rock poser out there. Listen to the man who funked-up Ornette Coleman's Prime Time Band in the 1980s.
