Native American Flute, Guitar Blues for Blue Duck, Whio, New Zealand - Video
PUBLISHED:  Mar 17, 2017
DESCRIPTION:
Recording my Native American Flute that I had bought the previous day. The song 'Blues for a Blue Duck' was previously recorded as 'The Blues Plays You'. The flute was made in New Zealand from native Rimu wood, by Todd Chaplin of Southern Cross Flutes. The guitar is an early 1960s Yamaha No. 80, and needed a fair bit of TLC before it was playable. The blue duck is known by the Maori people as the Whio because of its whistling call. Sadly the Whio is endangered and great efforts are being made to protect the species. The track is intended for my new album, dedicated to endangered birds around the world. Demos are being uploaded to SoundCloud as they are done, https://soundcloud.com/john-poletti.
