Bennson is from Melbourne, Australia. He started playing piano when he was a kid and after discovering guys like Wynton Kelly and Kenny Barron, he turned to jazz.
Since then he has worked as a session player both live and recording with many diverse artists like The Bamboos (AUST), Eddie Floyd (US), Eddie Bo (US), Alice Russell (UK), The Quantic Soul Orchestra (UK) and The Drifters (US).
He was a co-founder of Equatorial Records which showcased the best of Melbourne's soulful club producers and done a bunch of projects under different names, too many to mention.
