DESCRIPTION:
We demo and shootout the latest Fishman Fluence Tosin Abasi Signature against the BKP Black Hawks.

The pickups are installed in a Strandberg OS7, recorded into a Countryman Type 85 DI box into Saffire Pro 40.

All tones are recorded with an AxeFX II

The Fluences are wired to a 3 way fender style selector, with the volume knob push-pull acting as a Voice 1 & 2 switch while the tone knob push pull acts as the Voice 3 switch (which overwrites the voice 1 and 2 setttings)

The strings are kept the exact same in both tests and the 'zingy-ness' in the Fluence demos are coming from the pickups and not because of new strings or whatever. We found that if you turn down the tone knob you can remove some of this 'zingy-ness' if you don't like it, and still get very crushing tones.

IMO the Fluences has such versatility in terms of tone and can do the active voicing almost similar to the BKP Black Hawks but much clearer on the 7th string. Overall the Fluences doesn't have as much low end/mud as compared to the Black Hawks, however they do tend to feel a little less dynamic compared the passive Bareknuckles.
