Ale Moller is a prominent figure of Swedish folk music. He has been instrumental in expanding the borders of Scandinavian folk music and popularizing it. Apart from composing he also plays multiple instruments like Mandolin, Accordion, Flute, Shawm, Cowhorn. Improvisation is an important component of his musical journey where he builds his own musical landscape based on different musical traditions. Ale also composes for films and theatre. During the past couple of years, he has worked with musicians from different cultures and traditions in a series of successful projects. The current Ale Möller Band has evolved from such projects. Their Swedish Grammy winning debut album Bodjal was released in 2003. Since then, 'The Ale Möller Band' has toured domestically as well as abroad, adding new material to their music as they travelled. This Ale Moller trio is completed by Mats Öberg, pianist and keyboard player, who can play whatever comes to mind and Olle Linder from Swedish folk music's elite series who plays multiple instruments.
