Bull Funk Zoo is a collective of true heavyweights from Dubai's local music scene, brought together for the first time under one collaborative umbrella that singlehandedly redefines the term "supergroup". A musical mash-up of everything from Funk & Motown to Indie & Dubstep, the band already have some lofty notches in their belt, having not only opened for Sade during the Abu Dhabi stop of her 2011 World Tour but being personally praised by the legendary songstress as her favourite opening act of the entire tour. Spearheaded by Abstrakt Collision frontman & guitarist Assaad Lakkis, Bull Funk Zoo features the silky vocal stylings of soul-man Hamdan Al Abri as well as the bass guitar grooves of Dubai's leading jazz king Elie Afif and Rony Afif on drums. Newcomer Ayman Boyjlida rounds out the rhythm section with his infectious, on-point drumming whilst Yasser Anderson on synths is the group's pièce de résistance, expertly fleshing out the band's soundscape. Performing a mixture of Hamdan & Assaad's originally composed material as well as eclectic re-workings of some tried and true classics across all genres, everything is fair gam
