In Other News.
Vertical Rush have officially released their sophomore full-length album. Titled Of Real Dreams, the album marks the coming-of-age of the band, and a progression from the starry-eyed pop affectations of their debut full-length release, Songs for the Girls We Never Dated.
Of Real Dreams promises to tease the ear with more catchy indie-rock anthems, but with a newfound depth, honesty and maturity in songwriting and arrangements. This is an album 4 years in the making, but the band promises that it will be well worth the wait.
Of Real Dreams is currently in stock at HMV, Gramophone, and all good music stores. If it isn't, pester them to stock it now!!

Rated Spin of the Week!
"Vertical Rush is a breath of fresh air in a Singapore indie scene littered with world-weary musicians struggling to get their music heard. While many of their contemporaries fall short on finesse, the emo-rock band have proven that they are a force to be reckoned with."

POWER OF POP review of Vertical Rush album launch concert.
by Sherwin Tay and Kevin Matthews
"I have yet to leave a Vertical Rush show disappointed, tonight was no exception. The caliber of musicality and showmanship was impeccable, as has come to be expected from these seasoned veterans. this was easily one of the most memorable shows in recent memory that I’ve had the privilege of attending. After years of watching VR grow into the tour de force that they are now, I am still amazed by their consistent level of all-encompassing musicianship." (Sherwin Tay)
"VR was able to connect with the audience in ways seldom seen in our scene. I think its time for the scene to mature and VR has certainly pointed the way." (Kevin Matthews)

THE VERTICAL RUSH BIO
VERTICAL RUSH do not adhere to your typical indie-band recipe. Take a good serving of gutsy guitar rock, blend it with intricate song arrangements, a large helping of catchy pop hooks and a pinch of tongue-in-cheek humour. Serve fresh with an intense live performance. Satisfaction guaranteed!
Vertical Rush have come a long way from their inception in 1998. Though they have experienced 10 years of lineup and stylistic changes, Vertical Rush remains true to their core passion: To make music that moves people.
Vertical Rush draw from a deep well of musical influences, ranging from classic to alternative rock, and it shows in their music. In a generation of bland imitators who scratch the surface, Vertical Rush are a much-needed voice of passion and maturity.
Whether they are playing to half a dozen people at an intimate acoustic performance, or to thousands at a rock festival and all points between, Vertical Rush never fails to give their all and deliver the goods where it matters!
Musical trends may come and go, but Vertical Rush have shown beyond the shadow of a doubt that they are here to stay. Few bands can lay claim to having as much staying power and continuous growth as Vertical Rush, and they look forward to many more years of making music that moves people.
