Bio:
The Fire Fight burst into the local music scene back in 2006, instantly winning
over fans in Singapore’s local gig circuit with their own unique brand of indie
rock; influenced greatly from the 90’s emo-rock sound, a tad bit of dance, and
Brit rock with a hint of modern expression. Choice artists they like to credit for
their sound to would be the likes of The Promise Ring, Maritime, Death Cab For
Cutie and Jamiroquai.
Anticipated to be the next “big thing” after the likes of Electrico and The Great
Spy Experiment, The Fire Fight have found the stark ability to straddle well between
both underground and mainstream markets, with demand for their live
performances coming from both independent gig organizers to big festivals
such as Singfest and Baybeats as well as corporate and government bodies
like Nokia, HPB, MCYS and Mediacorp.
Having their big break as one of the discovery bands at Baybeats 2007, they’ve
had several notable appearances opening for popular Grammy nominated US
alternative rock band Switchfoot and indie acts like Anberlin and Copeland. The
most recently opened for UK Brit-rock faves Keane to 7000 in attendance.
The Fire Fight celebrated the release of their first full length album entitled
“Henri” on July 31st in conjunction with Late Night at Esplanade, at the Esplanade
Recital Studio to sold out crowd, a feat normally reserved for local music
veterans.
“Henri” was recorded at The Loft Studios, who’ve work with the likes of Hong
Kong’s Sandy Lam, Kaira Gong (SG/Taiwan), mixed by Leonard Soosay at
Snakeweed Acoustic Labs (Electrico, Great Spy Experiement, Plainsunset, BQuartet)
and mastered in New York City by Grammy Award-winning mastering
engineer Scott Hull (Bruce Springsteen, John Mayer, Joan Jett, Steely Dan,
Nelly Furtado) The Fire Fight’s debut album “Henri” promises to be a stellar
record that no one should ignore.
