Hammond M3 & Leslie 147 - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jun 18, 2010
DESCRIPTION:
Big upgrade from my 1969 Hammond L-111 and 1969 Cordovox (Leslie 16 copy) to a 1956 Hammond M3, with Leslie 147 of undetermined age, with a rebuilt 47 amp to 147 specs. I'm running a quarter inch jack off the audio wires into a trek 2 universal pedal (on loan till my leslie combo preamp pedal gets rebuilt). Therefore, that's why I haven't taken the bass pedals out, and have to take my foot off the swell pedal to operate it. Leslie volume is turned full up. The last sustained chord has the volume gradually increased until everything is running flat out, but the camera fails to capture that famous leslie growl. And I didn't elaborate much on it cos I didn't want to break any of my mum's wine glasses.

Anyway, the technique sucks, but I've only been playing since March, and this is more of just showing off the sound of this amazing match/set up. Some might feel this set up is too good for someone of my skill level:P but i've got enthusiasm and persistance on my side, even if I'm lacking the patience to sit down and properly learn everything.

The thing I like most in the video is the sudden change in musical style and sound.
