Bob Weigel of http://www.sounddoctorin.com meets a new friend. Things were turbulent at first but the issues get resolved and blissfulness results. Seriously I grew to greatly appreciate some of the innovative designs in this 1975 machine. Limited, certainly. But fantastic for this type of unit in that it's velocity sensitive in a way that has a finely crafted aspect. When i said 'low resolution" I was making an analogy to the fact that it doesn't have a broad effect on the sound, but the effect it does have has a very organic sense to it. I don't think I'll be selling this one for a while. I think there is great music to be made with it. Nice bass sounds possible and a useful organ but the electric piano's are really unique and have a musical expressive quality that goes beyond the Korg LP-10 5 or 6 years later for instance. Or the Roland EP-10 obviously having no dynamics at all along with all the cordovox etc. cheap pianos available with the same general design. The Elka Rhapsody 610 is the only one I'm aware of that has kind of the same vybe in the sound quality I hear and when I resurrect the string version...from what I read i may find that *that* machine is precisely that. A repackaged Elka Rhapsody 610. (see my video on that one). Fantastic machines whatever the case.
