I was inspired by typhoons. I live at the seafront, and typhoons often come with strange noises. This piece tells a progress of arrival and departure of a typhoon. It is composed in Ternary form. The two A sections depict sunny day before and after typhoon comes, are written in major, played mainly staccato; while B section represents the destructive power of the typhoon, written in minor, and is highlighted by accents and tenuto playings, for showing the contrast feelings. Terraced dynamics is applied in Typhoon is Coming and Typhoon Leaves to indicate quick arrival and departure of typhoon.

The music begins with an energetic and lively theme, Vivace - Sunny, and it recur in Lento with a leisure mood. B section is soon introduced by an idée fixe, which is a set of running arpeggios representing raining scene, played in Marcato. As the rain is heavier and the typhoon drives nearer, musical gesture becomes tenser. Syncopation rhythms are used in accompaniment to create instability; thorough discord and chromatic progression come to the climax of this piece, Largo - Thunderstorm. The underlying melody in Storm is later developed to the theme in Thunderstorm. Mirror lines help intensifying the music to Cloudburst, then typhoon leaves with stable rhythm, Adagio. Finally, A section, Vivo returns after the rain stops. The theme in Thunderstorm recapitulates in major to bring the piece to the full close.

In this piece, sequences and imitations between two pianos are common to strengthen the tension, and develop the piece to the climax. Tonic pedal and inverted pedal are called for at various sections to colour the atmosphere of respective scenes.
