Can't believe this wasn't on YouTube already so here it is.The CD on Factory Records is long out of print.
Incredible composition in which you can hear Martland's three biggest influences,Igor Stravinsky,Louis Andriessen and Michael Tippett.You can also hear the influence of Scottish Folk fiddle music,rather like Tippett's double concerto in fact.
I was lucky enough to go drinking a couple of times with Steve (mutual friends).His early death last year was so tragic.and btw this is such a powerful recording that it demands to be played LOUD!!!!
