DESCRIPTION:
This video won an award at the Worldfest film festival held in Houston in 2011. It won a Bronze in the Film and Video Art category.

This is the Gayatri Mantra, set to rag Mian ki Malhar, a traditional raga associated with rain. Music is by Chandra and David Courtney, and the choreography is by Anjaly Thakkar.

The theme revolves around shakti. In traditional Hindu thought, energy is referred to as Shakti and it is inherently female in its nature. This is an artistic impression of the shakti of the gayatri mantra and how it pervades the shakti of the rain, storm and elements.
