The Latin Jazz Youth Ensemble of San Francisco was founded in 2001 and is free providing Latin Jazz music and performance education to young musicians ages 10-17. The group was co-founded by Musical Director, Dr. John Calloway (Musical Director), Sylvia Ramirez (Director) and Arturo Riera (Managing Director). Each year the LJYE (www.ljye.com) holds an alumni concert allowing for past members to play with the current group as a fundraiser for a local non-profit.
