Here's Thirsty Betty with another song recorded live off the floor from our last minute recording session. This tune is a favourite of mine and was chosen by our drummer Kyle. We learned it about a month and a half ago, performed it once, and haven't touched it since. This funky-fusion tune is called "Whippersnapper" and it is by jazz guitarist Wayne Krantz. It's a great tune to let loose and just jam on, as you'll see shortly.

The band consists of:

Andrew Kesler- Guitar
Spencer Rayner- Bass
Kyle Krysa- Drums

This tune took about 6 takes, and we choose the 4th one. The other tunes we recorded were a bit easier, and only took 1 or 2 takes. Mixing the sound only took an hour or two on this one. I'm very happy with the overall sound of this take.

For all you techie nerds out there, here's the equipment I used:
Mics Neumann TLM 103 (right drum overhead) Apex 435 (left drum overhead) Sennheiser MD 421 (snare) AKG D112 (kick) SM 57 (guitar) (bass was line in)

I play Fury guitars through a Traynor 40w amp. Only pedal was the crybaby wah-wah. Used the amps distortion. While mixing I added the stereo delay.

Mixed in Logic Pro 8 and audio interface was a Presonus Firepod. For plug-ins I used Adaptive Limiter, Graphic EQ, Silver Compressor, Multipressor, Space Designer and probably something else, but that's basically it.
