Having blessed the scene for over 10 years with his unique musical styling, Chris Dave's musicianship defies classification and places him amongst the best drummers in the world. His articulated beats, intrinsic rhythms and innovative inflections have gained him recognition as one of the most influential and prototypical drummers in the industry today. Houston, TX native, Dave has been around the world and back playing for and recording with some of music's most established and iconic artists including: Kenny Garrett, Terrence Blanchard, Dolly Parton, Wynton Marsalis, Pat Metheny, Me'shell N'Degeocello, Robert Glasper Trio, Nicolas Payton, TLC, Toni Braxton, Kevin Mahogany, Kim Burrell, Mos Def, Erykah Badu, Common, Maxwell, Talib Kweli, Jill Scott, A Tribe Called Quest, Vicente Archer, Mint Condition (Janet Jackson World Tour), Vernel Brown, Munyungo Jackson, Romero Lubambo, Dianne Reeves, Otmaro Ruiz, Michelle Williams, Sa Ra, Geri Allen, Yolanda Adams, Robert Hurst Trio, Donald Brown Trio, Soulful Symphony and Reginald Veal, and many others.

One of the many projects Chris “Daddy” Dave is involved with is a group called The Foundation. Having just released their debut album, The Foundation is a tremendous live hip-hop band consisting of "my family and friends from H-Town." The Foundation includes Chris Dave (drums and production), Pookie (keys), Kay (vocals, production), D. Rose (vocals), Jon Jon (bass), Luke Austin (keys), Marshall York (percussion). They consistently receive over 2.5 million hits monthly on OkayPlayer.com. Naturally, the purpose and motivation behind it is their uncanny love for hip-hop and true "freedom of expression." The project just released their self-titled debut on iTunes featuring special guests: Bilal, Stokely (Mint Condition),Me'shell N'degeocello, PZ, Sa Ra, Tanya Morgan, Strangefruit Project, and Soulfruit. The Foundation initially formed in Houston and continues to produce music for artists all over the nation.

The RCDC Experiment, formerly The Experiment, is another facet that Chris Dave has been busy with. The RCDC Experiment travels through jazz, Hip hop, R&B, funk, fusion, and many other avenues. Long-time friends and some of the most established musicians in the scene today, the RCDC Experiment consists of Robert Glasper (Blue Note Recording Artist), Casey Benjamin on alto sax and vocoder, Derrick Hodge on bass, and the Chris "Daddy" Dave on drums. Whether it is their musical chemistry or genuine camaraderie, an unparallel synergy is created at every performance from a shared ingenuity. The RCDC Experiment has played with Mos Def, Q-Tip, Talib Kweli and many others. The fearsome four will be heading to the studio in the coming months.

In June 2008, Chris was invited to serve as musical director for Mos Def and his big band in a performance at Carnegie Hall produced by Jill Newman Productions. With this show being a part of the JVC Jazz Festival and also featuring the legendary Gil Scott-Heron, Chris filled a truly honorable and demanding position. After this mesmerizing event, Chris joined The RCDC Experiment for the Official Afterparty show presented by Revive Da Live Productions and was later featured on Okay Player with rave reviews for both of the events.

Along with the many high-profile acts, Chris is currently involved in projects with Erykah Badu, Maxwell, and Mos Def; he is producing and releasing a highly anticipated fresh mixtape of tracks that the in-demand hip-hop drummer produced with live instrumentation. This Mixtape features an audible range of progressive hip-hop with a stunning juxtaposition of ambient electronic sounds against dominant and authoritative drum grooves, Dave’s signature sound. It also showcases the range of Dave's dynamic collaborators in hip-hop, R&B, jazz and neo-soul. It will feature several established and up-and-coming artists such as Renee Neufville, Raydar Ellis, Stimulus, and many many more. Look out for monthly listening parties presented by Revive Da Live and their release later in the year.

Chris Dave's influence in the art of drumming along with his notable works and successes, have become an incredibly valuable asset to the music industry. Because of this, Chris is currently organizing two separate tours including a series of instructional clinics at select Universities along with a “Chris Dave and Friends Tour” to feature many of his iconic collaborators as special guests.
