EMILY
Music by: Marcelo Cesena
Piano: Marcelo Cesena

This music was written in Memory of Emily Shane.

Emily was a 13 year old girl who was murdered on April 3rd, 2010 by a suicidal driver on California's Pacific Coast Highway. I wrote this song after hearing this tragedy and have been deeply touched by this painful story.Part of the proceeds from the sale of this song go to the Emily Shane Foundation.

The Emily Shane Foundation information:

Emily Rose Shane was tragically murdered by a suicidal driver on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California on April 3, 2010. Devastated by the shock of this sudden and tragic loss, her family created The Emily Shane Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)3 charity, to pay tribute to her by helping others. The main focus of the Foundation is twofold - to encourage others to perform kind acts and good deeds for others, and an educational initiative - the SEA (Successful Educational Achievement) Program.

Emily was the type of person who cheered you up if you were sad, asked the person sitting alone at lunch to join her; she was the first to welcome a new student to the school. She transcended cliques. She always wanted to help others in need - whether it was giving food to the homeless or raising money for victims of disasters.

Our good deeds website encourages others to follow her compassionate and empathic example - by asking everyone to do good deeds and enter them on the website at: emilyshane.org. You can enter anonymously if you prefer. We have set a goal of 100 million good deeds! Please help us in reaching it.

The SEA Program provides one on one, individualized mentoring to struggling middle school students - with a focus on those with learning/processing issues who may be on 504 plans - and who could not otherwise afford this type of support. Emily had diagnosed processing issues and was lucky to have the help she needed to succeed to her best potential. Our Program's aim is to provide a safety net for these students, who might otherwise "fall through the cracks". This Program is unique, as there is no other support system available to serve this need.
