DESCRIPTION:
An exhibition with Sally Stafford (paintings) and India Flint (dresses) with on the inauguration a dance by Márcio Pereira.
Castelo de Evoramonte, Portugal. 21 June -- 14 August 2014.
The exhibition is dedicated to seven "Women of Flowers", some real, some fictional: Rainha Santa Isabel (1271-1336; known for her miracle with roses), Blodeuedd (character in a 12th century Welsh wonder tale), Georgiana Molloy (1805-1843; early settler in Australia with a passion for botany), Mãra (Goddess of Latvian mythology), Seets-a`ma (distributes fragrances to flowers from the back of a hummingbird. A story told by North American Indians), Dewi Sri (Indonesian goddess for rice) and Florbela Espanca (1894 -1930. Portuguese poet who used nature as a metaphor of human passion).
