I was tired and I was lonely
and I felt I was the only
one who knew
which way to go
and I was getting there
but much too slow
when I realized
I wasn't moving at all

a weak dependent of a wicked addiction
yet unaware of the rank affliction
pulling me down
no where else to go
my blood was moving
but much too slow

cast away my fool's crown

time and time, and time just spent
I broke some rules and others just bent
on getting me high
on taking me there
the world was moving
but I was going no where
when I realized
I wasn't living at all
