In the summer of 2003, each member of what was soon to be The C.O.A.S.T. brought to the table various metal styles that influenced them; from death metal to thrash and speed, with progressive metal and hardcore. From this inception, The C.O.A.S.T. blended these elements into an original yet recognizable style of metal.

Five experienced musicians who formed the backbone of The C.O.A.S.T. are Danny Zink (Ringworm, Acheron) on drums, Pete Rensch and Mike Lare (Ringworm bassist) on rhythm guitars, Ravi Reddi (Lethal Aggression) on leads, and Michael Sliclen, supplying the harmonic foundation on bass. What the band needed was a unique vocalist, and they found that in Amanda Boggs-Rainey. Although her tenure with The C.O.A.S.T. was brief, her raw approach is featured on the band’s first demo. In the spring of 2005, vocalist Duane Freeborn joined the lineup; his versatility and range added to the group's powerful sound.

To hone their craft as a live act, The C.O.A.S.T. has played numerous local and regional shows cultivating a loyal fan base. The C.O.A.S.T. has shared the stage along side national acts Cephalic Carnage, Soulless, and Estuary.

The C.O.A.S.T. entered the studio in the fall of 2006 to record their first full-length album. The self-titled effort bares ten tracks of neck-snapping ferocity, complimented by Duane's soaring vocal melodies, ensnaring listeners immediately, with riffs that punish relentlessly. The C.O.A.S.T. is now poised to push the new record to new and old fans alike, while composing new material for the next album.
