Universal Brass Ensemble at TUBA BACH CHAMBER MUSIC FESTIVAL, MICHIGAN. Thomas Boulton, on trumpet; Dan Wions, on French horn; Yevgeny Morozov, on piano; and festival founder Ed Mallett, on euphonium and tuba, played 11 pieces in the opening concert. The program included wide range of music including works by Bach, Mussorgsky, Smetana, Ravel, Prokofiev, as well as Sondheim, Bernstein and Grainger.

Established in Spring 2013, Universal Brass Ensemble was formed to promote new arrangements for varied instrumentation & to provide an outlet for composers of the next era.

DR. THOMAS BOULTON, trumpet, performs internationally across North America and has performed live across television and National Public Radio broadcasts. He has performed with numerous ensembles, including the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas, the Orchestra at St. Luke's, and the New Amsterdam Brass Band, where he recorded a CD with virtuoso Allen Vizzutti. Boulton regularly appears as principal trumpet with the Artemis Chamber Ensemble and 2011 Grammy nominee, Metropolis Ensemble. He served as principal trumpet in Lorin Maazel's (Conductor, New York Philharmonic) inaugural Castleton Music Festival in Castleton, Virginia and recently appeared in Philip Glass' 2011 MATA Festival, Music Festival of the Americas in Stowe, Vermont, and the Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors Festival performing with composer Tan Dun.

DAN WIONS, Horn, has worked under the baton of such prestigious conductors as James Levine, Zubin Mehta, Michael Tilson Thomas, Manfred Honeck, Sir Andrew Davis, Charles Dutoit, Christoph Eschenbach, Kurt Masur, Lorin Maazel, Michael Stern, Stefan Sanderling, and Eri Klas, among others. He has also toured with Dave Brubeck, Patti LaBelle, Aretha Franklin, John Legend, Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine, Carlos Santana, Kenny G, Frank Sinatra Jr., Patti Lupone, Leann Rhimes, Mannheim Steamroller, Clay Aiken, and Josh Groban, among others. Dan has performed as a soloist with the National Concert Party (Chamber Orchestra of America) at the Kennedy Center, and with the Massapequa Philharmonic. He was appointed Third Horn of the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas, and has been Second horn of the Chamber Orchestra of New York since 2007..

YEVGENY MOROZOV is an international Award-Winning classical concert pianist, soloist and chamber musician in numerous festivals and recitals series in the Europe and the U.S. He was featured to perform at the V. Middle European Festival of Concert Art, Prokofiev's Music Festival in Moscow, International Keyboard Institute & Festival in New York City, Sarasota Music Festival in Florida. He has frequently appeared as a piano soloist with orchestra, performing with the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Royal Scottish Academy Symphony Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, Odessa National Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra in Ukraine, among others. Yevgeny's performances were broadcasted on the Slovak TV in Bratislava, Slovak Radio in Žilina, as well as Ukrainian National TV Company in Kiev and WQXR station in NYC.
