Another season of clubbing may be done and dusted, but 62nd assassins Mendo & Yvan Genkins continue Clarisse’s deadliest partnership and tell the world that it ain’t over until they say so. Both seasoned dancefloor leaders across multiple continents and dance charts, Mendo & Genkins last paired together on Clarisse on 2014’s ‘What You Say’ EP, and recently caused damage with a triple threat on Spanish label Suara. Loaded with hip-hop samples and acid onslaughts, the ‘Casan’ EP went all out on the attack from beat one.

Back on home turf the Swiss carry on from where they left off with two heavyweight house party blasters enough to flip you through 180 degrees. ‘Side to Side’ will have the length and breadth of the dancefloor locked; blockbuster kick drums crush those creeping around the arena’s edge, with some disco tom-toms thrown in as lighter touch in the face of the storm. Then there’s a sassy, ‘Technologic’-meets-‘90s Baby’ instructional vocal that you should obey or face the consequences, and a breakdown to test your physical and mental strength. Guaranteed to wake everyone up from their autumn snooze.

There’s little let-up to be had on ‘Moogy’: all about a pressure-applying bassline of infinite drive and no little menace, and the core of an absolute four-to-the-floor pumper trained to ruthlessly get blood rushing. As effects and vocals buffer and buffet like a pinball machine going gaga, another detonative breakdown hits the track’s high score like Mendo & Genkins have installed a runway for the supersonic to take flight from. And though it clocks in at under seven minutes, you imagine this could march on for days given the chance. Once again, it’s Mendo & Genkins bringing the noise.
