This is a little tune about this last spring and summer: three collections of memories from three different places in Canada.
By the way! I am actually sitting outside haha. It looks like it might be a green screen, but I am perched on the second floor balcony of a house underconstruction).
Spring
Oh the darkness fell like a loaded gun
and it stole our water
left us with none
and now we are keeping the rocks
company
Oh the ice in the inlet is all broken up
and it sounded a lot
like all of those cups
that you broke while you were trying
to find yourself
oh oh spring is here
oh oh spring is here
Oh the papers piled up
like the buildings of books
that we tried to consume
hung our hats on their hooks
and now we are floating on boats
built of keys
Oh our minds travelled places
our feet longed to go
and our hearts crafted words
that our hands longed to sew
and apprentices have to know how
to be alone
oh oh spring is here
oh oh spring is here
my heart is packed up
like the bags that i've got
and my eyes are set forward
on a far away spot
that i found on a map that is torn
along the folds
my wings fly tomorrow
built strongly of steel
and my lungs draw in breaths
that design how I feel
and I hope that it won't be so hard
to be alone
oh oh spring is here
oh oh spring is here
