There's another site for The Marbleheads on garageband.com for you to read the real roots of the band, but everythings completly changed now. All the current members except Mohamed Ghazy (Guitar) either left the country or stopped playing music altogether and all the old songs have been erased. Instead, Ghazy now writes his music with Omar 'Oz' Ziftawy (Vocals and Guitar), and he is sure glad he does. The two have an amazing musical partnership, even though they listen to totally different genres of music, their own music meets at a certain point and that point creates some of the finest and catchiest songs you can ever hear. The band met at a local bar in Cairo, Egypt in the summer of 2003, Oz sat Ghazy down in his car and made him listen to two of his acoustic demo recordings. 'And' and 'Bleed' blew Ghazy away and then the two agreed on a date for a very first jam session, and it all went uphill from there. The band have been together for less than a year but amazingly finished writing 25 songs (each one of them could be defined as a classic) and played more than 30 shows (including two infront of 2,500 people and a concert of their own infront of more than 300 fans).and now it's safe to say that they've probably become the best band Egypt has ever produced. 2006 has been a good year for the Marbleheads, they won the biggest battle of the bands competition in Egypt, that was done on Cairo's number one radio station 104.2 Nile FM. At the same time, the band are playing shows every week, to raise awareness.
