They consider me lesser as a leper/My flesh festers as I'm sequestered from the rest of society/And when I come around I got folks eyeing me/Supposing my sickness is symptom of some impropriety/Meant to be unseen/Forbidden to arrive unannounced so when I come around I scream "Unclean!"/A hollow grotto's what I rest in/While I wallow in depression/Until I'm free of this infection/And though the priest comes to perform inspection/I go to meet a teacher with power beyond expression/And when I met him, I collapsed at His heels/Asked Him to heal and He told me he will/So now I'm purified in my skin/He tells me to offer sacrifice for my sins/He tells me to keep it to myself/ But I just got to tell my mother and her friends, I won't tell nobody else/But I know I ain't only one/Sin's infected mankind making man blind to the Holy One/ So now we're impure/ But our spiritual leprosy and sin's cure is in Christ, God's Holy Son.
