DESCRIPTION:
Eric Taylor has a new CD called "Studio 10" coming out in June of 2013, and it has "Bill" on it, his tribute to his friend, the late Bill Morrissey. This video contains an early rendition of the song and is used with permission.

BILL MORRISSEY (November 25, 1951 -- July 23, 2011) was an American folk singer/songwriter from New Hampshire (born in Hartford, Connecticut). Many of his songs reflect the harsh realities of life in crumbling New England mill towns. He had a unique way of creating spare, powerful and literate songs, and he continues to be held in high esteem by other writers in the realm. About the process of writing a song, Bill once said, "It's like a Polaroid being developed, and suddenly you realize, 'Oh, that's what he looks like, that's what kind of a guy he is.' My characters fool me. I don't know who they are when I start out, just a vague idea. A lot of times, halfway through a song, I'll go 'No, wait a second, he wouldn't do that.' Which is really a drag when you've got a great rhyme for what he wouldn't do." Morrissey died in Dalton, Georgia on July 23, 2011, during a tour of the Southern U.S.

ERIC TAYLOR (born September 25, 1949) was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on September 25, 1949. He is an American singer-songwriter who's lived most of his life in Texas. Eric is known for his anecdotal songs which often take the form of short stories. In addition to Taylor's many solo releases, his songs have been recorded by Nanci Griffith, Lyle Lovett and many others. Eric is a performer whose concerts include songs, storytelling and a master's touch for leading his listeners on a nocturnal journey to parts of a vanishing America that only Eric's songs seem to know the way to.
